In active summer months, your nails can take a beating. Besides spending time in the great outdoors, your hands can get dry and scaly from being in the water and the sun. So take a moment to pamper your nails with a do-it-yourself French manicure with French Tip Dip!

 Preparation:
Shape your nails into a gentle oval shape (or which ever shape you choose) with an emery board. Start at the corners and work your way to the center of the nail, be sure to angle the emery board so you are mostly getting the bottom side of your nail. If your nails are very brittle, try using the board in only one direction, instead of sawing back and forth.

Soak your hands in warm water to soften your skin. Either get a big bowl of soapy warm water or fill up the sink. Chill out and relax.

Now the cuticles (the extra skin along the base of you nails) should be extra soft.
Gently push the cuticle back towards the base and take care not to tear the skin.
 Now, buff you nails to get a shiny smooth surface. Buffing your nails will brighten up the appearance of your nails, and get rid of any lines or graininess. French Tip Dip recommends using a four way buffer to maximize shine and durability of the polish as well as to help seal the cuticle of the nail.
